Even if you’ve never seen any of the cinematic versions of the story, you’ve likely heard of the movie title A STAR IS BORN. First released in 1937 as the brainchild of GONE WITH THE WIND producer David O. Selznick, it was remade in 1954 as a musical with Judy Garland and James Mason, and again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. So the new version, which is Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut, is now the third remake of the original story. This one features Cooper as a fading country signer Jackson Maine, who finds a reluctant singing sensation named Alley, played by Lady Gaga… and she becomes a star while he loses his. Aside from Cooper and Gaga, the film also features Sam Elliott, Andrew Dice Clay, and Dave Chappelle (in a rare dramatic role!). Check out the first trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Country music star Jackson Maine discovers an unknown but talented singer named Ally. As her career quickly takes off, Jackson starts to realize that his best days may be behind him.
