Rowan Atkinson may not seem like the most likely comedic actor to pull off a parody of the James Bond franchise, but he’s done it twice already with the JOHNNY ENGLISH film series. The third installment hits theaters this October, JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN, which like the last one features a former Bond Girl. Where JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN had DIE ANOTHER DAY‘s Rosamund Pike in a co-starring role, this outing features Olga Kurylenko (QUANTUM OF SOLACE). But what’s even cooler than that is the screenwriting team of Neal Purvis and Robert Wade returning (they wrote the first one), as these guys have actually written the last several Bond films (Brosnan’s last two, and all of Daniel Craig’s movies), meaning the character of Johnny English isn’t just a clever parody of 007, he’s actually from the creative minds that work on the Bond franchise! The third installment is directed by David Kerr and also stars Emma Thompson, Jake Lacy, Ben Miller, Miranda Hennessy, Tuncay Gunes, and David Mumeni.
