Dallas, come to I MISSED COMIC-CON at Zeus Comics (Aug 12)! Meet comic creators, get free stuff

Let’s face it, not everyone can make it to San Diego Comic-Con, and it sucks reading about all the cool creators and amazing swag that fans get when you’re not there to get it yourself. Well, that’s where we come in, for the Dallas crowd at least. On Saturday, August 12th, Bigfanboy.com and Dallas Comic Show is proud to present the second (hopefully of many) I MISSED COMIC-CON event at Zeus Comics & Toys (just South of 35 and Inwood). We did one of these a few years back and it was a big hit. Come meet local comic book creators, get your favorite comics signed, and even commission an original sketch if you like. Plus Bigfanboy will be giving away tons of cool promotional items from upcoming movies, along with signed items, DVDs, and more. Please note, the items the comic creators bring, and the merchandise in the store is NOT free… but we’ll give you plenty of free stuff. If you live in Big D, you will not want to miss this.

Hours are Saturday, 11:00am until 4:00pm

Special guests include:
Joe Eisma – artist of RIVERDALE, THE ARCHIES, THE FLASH, MORNING GLORIES
Steve Erwin – artist of CHECKMATE, DEATHSTROKE THE TERMINATOR, STAR TREK
Lawrence Reynolds – artist of SENSATION COMICS FEATURING WONDER WOMAN, VAMPIRE DIARIES
Ben Dunn – creator and artist of NINJA HIGH SCHOOL and MARVEL MANGAVERSE
Kez Wilson – artist/inker of STAR TREK, POWER OF THE ATOM, SCARLETT, WHAT THE?!
Cal Slayton – artist of TEXAS ZOMBIE WARS, sketch card artist Marvel, DC, STAR WARS, WALKING DEAD

As previously mentioned, Bigfanboy.com will have a booth where we’ll give away tons of cool freebies both comic book and movie related. We even brought back some items from San Diego Comic-Con, so you’ll have a shot at getting some show exclusives without being at that show! Some of the items we’ll be giving away include the following:

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING posters
THE WALKING DEAD comics
WONDER WOMAN comics
MOANA posters
LOGAN posters
RESIDENT EVIL t-shirts
47 METERS DOWN t-shirts
VALERIAN posters
VALERIAN comics
ATOMIC BLONDE posters
ROUGH NIGHT posters
SAUSAGE PARTY posters
SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING posters
Various film t-shirts
and more!

We’ll also be giving out passes to see an advance screening in Dallas – details as they’re made available.

And some of the prize items we’ll have on hand include:

THE CROW reboot posters featuring art by James O’Barr (these are gorgeous)
Various DVDs and Blu-rays (subject to product availability)
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGERS newspaper prop (actual prop from the film!)
and more!

We also want cosplayers to show up and show their support, so we’ll have a costume contest at 3pm with exciting prizes for the winners. Again, if you’ve got a costume you want to show off, but can’t wait for the next convention, this is your chance to do just that!

And the best part of all is admission is FREE! Parking is FREE! The event will be held from 11am until 4pm (possibly 5pm if still crowded). Promotional items will be given out at various times to make them last, so there’s no guarantee certain items will be available at certain times. Most free items are one per person. Families are encouraged, though parents please make sure to keep an eye on your kids. This store is filled with collectibles, so we don’t want any unexpected damage. If you bend it or break it, you buy it. Hope to see everyone there, and tell your friends!

This just in – in honor of Zeus’ 17th Anniversary, we’ll be selling Two-Day passes to Dallas Comic Show this September 16-17 for just $17.00 – that’s $3 off normal price, a great deal! Just stop by the Bigfanboy.com table and say “I want to buy a Two-Day pass for Dallas Comic Show” and we’ll hook ya up.

Hours are Saturday, 11:00am until 4:00pm
