After several years of discussed possibilities for a big screen (or small screen) adaptation of Stephen King’s THE DARK TOWER books, we’ll finally be delivered something cool this August… well, we hope it’s cool, but if the first trailer and the new International trailer is any indication, we’re pretty optimistic. Matthew McConaughey is the Man in Black and Idris Elba is Roland Deschain / The Gunslinger, with a cast that also features Katheryn Winnick, Abbey Lee, Jackie Earle Haley, Nicholas Hamilton, Dennis Haysbert and Fran Kranz. The story is pretty ambitious and leaves large potential for continuation, so it should be interesting to see if the first film is a hit. This also looks more grand and spectacular that just about ANY Stephen King adaptation we’ve seen so far, directed by Nikolaj Arcel (A ROYAL AFFAIR). Take a look at the new UK trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world.

THE DARK TOWER opens August 4, 2017
