20th Century Fox continues their successful franchise reboot for the PLANET OF THE APES lore this summer with WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES. Matt Reeves is back in the director chair, with a screenplay by Mark Bomback and Reeves. This one looks a little like APOCALYPSE NOW, with Woody Harrelson playing an psychologically tortured Colonel with an army of humans ready to battle the ape oppressors. Chances are this story will go to some pretty dark places. The cast includes Andy Serkis (of course), Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval and Terry Notary. Take a look at the new Fox India trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments… but be warned, this gives away some rather heavy spoilers on the plot.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
