Netflix unleashed the first full trailer today for Marvel’s THE DEFENDERS, which finally brings together Finn Jones (as Danny Rand / Iron Fist), Mike Colter (as Luke Cage), Charlie Cox (as Daredevil / Matt Murdock), and Krysten Ritter (as Jessica Jones). to fight a common enemy, played by none other than Sigourney Weaver (as Alexandra). The cast also includes Jessica Henwick (as Colleen Wing), Elodie Yung (as Elektra Natchios), Rosario Dawson (as Claire Temple), Babs Olusanmokun (as Sowande), Elden Henson (as Foggy Nelson), Simone Missick (as Misty Knight) and Rachael Taylor (as Trish Walker). This is pretty ambitious for television, bringing together four superhero characters like this who have all had their own series… but it worked on the big screen for Marvel’s THE AVENGERS, so we’ll see if their luck repeats itself here. Safe to say this trailer does a good job selling the product. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

“Marvel’s The Defenders” follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

THE DEFENDERS premieres August 18, 2017 on Netflix
