If you’re like me, you got a little giddy when you saw Jeff Goldblum in the THOR: RAGNAROK trailer. He’s one of those actors that’s just likable in almost anything… perhaps even INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE. In recent years he’s taken on smaller roles, popping up in Wes Anderson films, or TV shows likeĀ Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Portlandia. One of the actor’s most accessible roles has been that of chaos theorist Dr. Ian Malcolm in both JURASSIC PARK and THE LOST WORLD. Now it looks like he’s returning to that part for the upcoming JURASSIC WORLD sequel. The Hollywood Reporter got the scoop that Goldblum has locked in his appearance, joining returning actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and newcomers Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. J.A. Bayona (A MONSTER CALLS) is in the director chair this time, with Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly co-writing the script. Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment (with producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley and executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow) are once again releasing this installment, which was kind of a given after JURASSIC WORLD ended its theatrical run with a worldwide gross of $1.67 billion, making it the fourth-highest-grossing movie of all time. Look for Goldblum in JURASSIC WORLD 2 on June 22, 2018… are you excited? Tell us in the comments.
