Ryan Reynolds has had great success with DEADPOOL, and Samuel L. Jackson has enjoyed playing “Nick Fury” in several of the Marvel Studios films… but the two have yet to star together in anything, which changes thanks to THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD. This new action comedy has Reynolds playing a top notch bodyguard assigned to protect a hitman (Jackson) set to testify, only these two really don’t get along. The cast also includes Salma Hayek, Elodie Yung, Gary Oldman, Kirsty Mitchell and Joaquim de Almeida. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes (THE EXPENDABLES 3) and written by Tom O’Connor – the latter of which has only written one previous film, a Bruce Willis and Josh Duhamel thriller called FIRE WITH FIRE that didn’t get much of a theatrical run. All that said, the red band trailer below looks pretty fun, and I found myself grinning the whole time it played. Check it out and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
The world’s top bodyguard gets a new client, a hit man who must testify at the International Court of Justice. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial on time.
