THE WALL trailer – Doug Liman puts John Cena & Aaron Taylor-Johnson in deadly crosshairs

Director Doug Liman (EDGE OF TOMORROW) has proven time and time again he can handle tension and action sequences quite well, and his latest effort looks rather intense. On the surface, THE WALL looks like a pretty simple concept. Two soldiers have unwittingly become the target of an Iraqui sniper, and the only thing protecting them is a rather un-sturdy wall. But we’re betting this gets pretty heavy in the psychological aspects, and some hard decisions will have to be made. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (KICK-ASS) and WWE’s John Cena star in the film, which comes from first-time screenwriter Dwain Worrell. While Cena has only starred in a few films, he’s been quite good in small roles, so it will be interesting to see how he pulls this off… I’m actually expecting he’ll be great. Take a look at the first trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

“The Wall” is a deadly psychological thriller that follows two soldiers pinned down by an Iraqi sniper, with nothing but a crumbling wall between them. Their fight becomes as much a battle of will and wits as it is of lethally accurate marksmanship. Directed by Doug Liman (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Edge of Tomorrow”), “The Wall” stars Aaron Taylor Johnson (“Nocturnal Animals,” “Kick-Ass,” “Savages” “Godzilla,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron”) and WWE star John Cena (“Trainwreck,” “Sisters,” “Daddy’s Home”), and is written by first-time screenwriter Dwain Worrell from his Black List script. “The Wall” is produced by Amazon Studios.

THE WALL opens in theaters March 10, 2017
