Disney seems to be on a roll with their various live action versions of classic animated films. Their recent releases like ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, CINDERELLA and MALEFICENT did quite well. Next in line is BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, which will also feature some of the classic songs we all know and love from the animated classic. It should be interesting to see how this plays, as if done well it could mean straight adaptations of their animated films could be an easy and safe way to go moving forward. Directed by Bill Condon, the live action version stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald with Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson… that’s quite a line up! Check out the rather effective new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST opens in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017
