AMC’s new THE WALKING DEAD Season 7 trailer spotlights Ezekiel & Morgan

THE WALKING DEAD left folks with a really big cliffhanger at the end of Season 6, introducing Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the formidable Negan, weilding his barb wire-wrapped baseball bat “Lucille”, and having him take out one of the main cast members it a rather horrible way… only we don’t yet know which one perished. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, AMC premiered the first Season 7 trailer, which did a fine job recapping the various personalities of our lead characters without giving away the major spoiler everyone desperately wants to know. But it also introduced two new elements that will be explored in the new season, including Khary Payton as Ezekiel, his tiger Shiva, and his domain of “The Kingdom” as part of the story. With Negan and Ezekiel, our cast is going to have their hands full, while also being one man (or woman) down. It’s probably safe to say Andrew Lincoln isn’t going anywhere, but we’re bound to see some major conflicts with the series ramps back up in October. The newest trailer shows Ezekiel again, but also puts the spotlight on Morgan… wonder how things will go for him? Check out the new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

And here’s the Comic-Con trailer in case you missed it:

THE WALKING DEAD Season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 on AMC
