If you’re not a fan of THE BIG BANG THEORY, you might not be familiar with Simon Helberg, though he’s been acting in smaller roles for many years now outside of the popular television series. The new movie FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS puts him side by side with the one and only Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, and gives him a chance to shine in a leading role playing real life piano player Cosmé McMoon. The story of the film is an interesting one, based on the woman who couldn’t hold a tune to save her life, but somehow became an odd inspirational figure in spite of it. It’s absolutely the type of film that will get noticed during award season, but it should be interesting to see if folks take notice of Helberg, who is terrific in the film. We had a chance to sit down with Simon and talk a bit about his role in the production, and how he found the right balance of humor and drama for the part. Watch the interview below, and check out the movie in theaters starting this weekend.
