San Diego Comic-Con 2016: Marvel trailers for LUKE CAGE, IRON FIST and DEFENDERS

Marvel is rockin’ the crowd with their announcements at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, including Netflix’s DAREDEVIL getting officially renewed for a third season. But the big news of the day came in the form of three very cool trailers for their other Netflix shows coming soon. LUKE CAGE, IRON FIST and even THE DEFENDERS got short but sweet teaser trailers revealed, and all three are pretty cool. First up, LUKE CAGE puts Mike Colter (seen previously in JESSICA JONES) in the lead role as Marvel’s first African American superhero to headline a TV series… and man does it look cool. If this is just a taste, I can’t wait to see the end result. The cast also includes Mahershala Ali as Cornell Stokes, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Theo Rossi as Shades, Frank Whaley as Scarfe, and Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Watch the first Luke Cage teaser below. It hits Netflix on September 30. Check it out:

Up next is IRON FIST, which stars Finn Jones (GAME OF THRONES) as Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick (also from GAME OF THRONES) as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum. Carrie-Anne Moss will also appear as Jeri Hogarth (previously seen in JESSICA JONES and DAREDEVIL) and Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple meaning she will have crossed over in every Marvel/Netflix show (she’s also appearing on LUKE CAGE). Check out the teaser below:

And finally there’s THE DEFENDERS, which brings all the Netflix heroes together – Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Finn Jones as Iron Fist, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. The trailer doesn’t have any finished footage yet, but it’s a pretty solid and satisfying announcement for what’s to come.

And here’s the promo poster released for IRON FIST, which is pretty cool in and of itself. We’ll stay on top of other Marvel announcements as they come in, so stay tuned, and let us know what you think of all this in our comments below.
