After the dramatic real life water landing on the Hudson River carried out by Captain “Sully” Sullenberger in 2009, it wasn’t long before a movie was announced. And what a team for the big screen version, Clint Eastwood directing and Tom Hanks starring in the lead. SULLY explores not only the now legendary landing, but some of the controversy that led up to up and took place after it. The cast also includes Laura Linney, Anna Gunn and Aaron Eckhart. On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.
