Disney seems to be on a roll with their various live action versions of classic animated films. This week sees the release of ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, and their recent releases like CINDERELLA and MALEFICENT did quite well. Next in line is BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, which will also feature some of the classic songs we all know and love from the animated classic. It should be interesting to see how this plays, as if done well it could mean straight adaptations of their animated films could be an easy and safe way to go moving forward. Directed by Bill Condon, the live action version stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald with Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson… that’s quite a line up!
