There’s been talk for years about the popular DC/Vertigo Comics series PREACHER being brought to either the big or small screen, and more than a few false starts. Now, thanks to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (oddly enough) we’re finally going to get a televised adaptation of the beloved comic story. AMC has already shown a few teaser trailers for the series, and now you can watch the first four minutes of the pilot, which will undoubtedly have those unfamiliar with the comics rather confused. The previous trailers looked a little tame in comparison to the comics, but this sneak preview ggives a taste of some of the more crazy stuff we’ll inevitably see. The series stars Dominic Cooper, Jamie Anne Allman, Thomas Barbusca, W. Earl Brown, Ian Colletti, Joseph Gilgun, Lucy Griffiths, Brian Huskey, Ruth Negga and Elizabeth Perkins. During tonight’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” AMC launched the world premiere of the trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming series, “Preacher”. Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, Agent Carter) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun, This Is England) embark on a journey to, literally, find God. The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,” “Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”). The series is set to premiere mid-2016.
