There’s something very cool about Bryan Singer coming full circle with the X-MEN movie franchise, one that he started in a big way, and is now continuing in a bigger way than ever expected. After his immense success with DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, he’s back behind the camera for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. The new trailer that just hit even starts with some rather familiar dialogue. This installment brings the Marvel mutants into the 1980s and introduces some new (or should we say newer versions of) characters to the current retroactive storyline. This time Professor Charles Xavier and his students must go up against the “first” mutant, called Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac). The impressive cast includes Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters, Olivia Munn, James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Josh Helman, Monique Ganderton and Lucas Till. The new featurette gives us a little more background on who Apocalypse is and what his motivations are. Take a look below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
