In honor of Earth Day (because why not?), 20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for INDEPENDENCE DAY RESURGENCE, packed with lots of new footage. Hard to believe it’s already been 20 years since INDEPENDENCE DAY wowed theaters. Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich’s epic alien attack movie was an enormous hit, and there’s been sequel talk for two decades… and now that sequel is finally upon us. The newest trailer is as epic as you would hope it to be. The film stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Angelababy, William Fichtner, and Sela Ward. Are you excited? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
