THE REVENANT featurette – an inside look at Iñárritu’s epic starring DiCaprio & Hardy

While everyone is still salivating over the latest STAR WARS installment, there’s another movies that’s about to wow audiences when it hits theaters in limited release in a few days. Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s THE REVENANT stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter in a brutal tale of survival and revenge. It’s a rough ride that doesn’t feature many moments of happiness, but man is it incredible to experience. The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith and Iñárritu, based in part on the novel by Michael Punke. Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. THE REVENANT is directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker, Academy Award® winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel).

THE REVENANT comes to theaters limited release December 25 and wide in January 2016!

Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV.
