ROCK THE KASBAH trailer – Bill Murray desperately takes a music quest to Afghanistan

Bill Murray movies are pretty much always worth a look these days. Even some of his less popular fare promises a pretty memorable performance. Open Road Films’ ROCK THE KASBAH looks like classic Murray fun, and features an impressive supporting cast as well. Written by Murray’s longtime friend Mitch Glazer, it stars Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Danny McBride, and Scott Caan. In the film Murray plays a rock music manager running out of clients, and finding his last bastion of hope in Afghanistan hoping to compete in an American Idol-like competition called “Afghan Star.” Check out thee new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Murray stars as Richie Lanz, an aging rock manager who takes his last client on a USO tour of Afghanistan. But after being abandoned in Kabul, Vance has an epiphany: he discovers a young girl with an extraordinary voice and proceeds to get her into Afghanistan’s version of American Idol (called Afghan Star).
