Quentin Tarantino’s next movie is another Western… if you’re like me it could be a courtroom drama about insurance fraud and I’d still be excited. THE HATEFUL EIGHT deals with bounty hunters in The Old West during a blizzard. The amazing cast includes Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Roth, Zoë Bell, Michael Madsen, Demian Bichir, and the great Bruce Dern. There’s already Oscar buzz for Jennifer Jason Leigh, just based on the short San Diego Comic-Con clip shown in Hall H last month.
In post-Civil War Wyoming, bounty hunters try to find shelter during a blizzard but get involved in a plot of betrayal and deception. Will they survive?
TRUMBO stars Bryan Cranston as Dalton Trumbo, the famous Hollywood screenwriter who was blacklisted in the film community during the 1940s after being outed as a communist. The supporting cast includes Elle Fanning, Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, Alan Tudyk, John Goodman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Louis C.K., Stephen Root, Michael Stuhlbarg (as Edward G. Robinson), David James Elliott (as John Wayne), and Roger Bart. It should be great to see Cranston in a showcase theatrical piece like this, but it’s hard to not be impressed by that ensemble cast too.
The successful career of Hollywood screenwriter, Dalton Trumbo, comes to an end when he is blacklisted in the 1940s for being a Communist.
Originally titled ADAM JONES in reference to the main character, the movie BURNT stars Bradley Cooper as a chef who has fallen from grace, and looking for a rebound. The supporting cast includes Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. We expect a trailer this week, which was teased on The Today Show, but we’re not going to post that clip as it’s mainly the hosts talking and laughing with each other over how cute Cooper is.
Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.
