Dallas – Bigfanboy hosts JURASSICON at Zeus Comics (June 14) – meet comic artists, get free swag!

Did you miss Fan Expo Dallas? Can’t wait for San Diego Comic-Con? If you live in the Dallas area, we’ve got a fun way to spend your Sunday afternoon. Bigfanboy.com is hosting a special mini-con of sorts to celebrate the opening of JURASSIC WORLD and the official start of summer. JURASSICON will be going on this Sunday at Zeus Comics & Toys (just South of 35 and Inwood). Come meet local comic book creators, get your favorite comics signed, and even commission an original sketch if you like. Plus Bigfanboy will be giving away tons of cool promotional items from upcoming movies, along with signed items, DVDs, and more. Please note, the items the comic creators bring, and the merchandise in the store is NOT free… but we’ll give you plenty of free stuff. If you live in Big D, you will not want to miss this.

Special guests include:
Lawrence Reynolds – cover artist of SENSATION COMICS and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
Scott Harben – photography artist for Lucasfilm, Marvel and more

As previously mentioned, Bigfanboy.com will have a table where we’ll give away tons of cool freebies both comic book and movie related. We even brought back some items from San Diego Comic-Con, so you’ll have a shot at getting some show exclusives without being at that show! Some of the items we’ll be giving away include the following:

Disney/Pixar INSIDE OUT shirts
TOMORROWLAND posters and metal pins (these are awesome!)
TED 2 posters
FURIOUS 7 posters
SAN ANDREAS t-shirts
and more!

And some of the prize items we’ll have on hand include:

JURASSIC WORLD prize packs (the coolest item we’ll have)
THE CROW reboot posters featuring art by James O’Barr (these are gorgeous)
GODZILLA Fan Expo Exclusive print signed by artist Matt Frank
KICK-ASS 2 theatrical one sheet posters signed by co-creator John Romita Jr.
KICK-ASS 2 Dallas Comic Con exclusive mini-lithos signed by John Romita Jr.
and more!

You could win one of these Matt Frank GODZILLA prints, signed!

And the best part of all is admission is FREE! Parking is FREE! The event will be held from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Promotional items will be given out at various times to make them last, so there’s no guarantee certain items will be available at certain times. Most free items are one per person.

Like to dress up? Please do! Wear your favorite costumes, as we’ll be taking pictures for our Facebook page. We might even have some prizes just for those in costume. We want you to express your fandom, however you like, so see if you can wow us… just please keep it tasteful as this is a family event.

Families are encouraged, though parents please make sure to keep an eye on your kids. This store is filled with collectibles, so we don’t want any unexpected damage. If you bend it or break it, you buy it. Hope to see everyone there, and tell your friends!

Once again, the hours for JURASSICON are 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, June 14. Zeus Comics & Toys is located just South of I-35 on Inwood Road, a block South of Irving Blvd. in Dallas. Look for the giant “Zeus” sign on the outside, and JURASSIC WORLD posters in the windows. Hope to see you there!
