BEFORE I WAKE trailer – Kate Bosworth & Thomas Jane adopt a boy with a dark secret

beforeiwake-header

The new movie BEFORE I WAKE explores an interesting idea – the concept of someone’s dreams (as they sleep) becoming real to others who are awake around them. It stands to reason that while some aspects of such a power would be fantastical and great to behold, what happens when the nightmares seep through? Directed by Mike Flanagan (OCULUS), the film stars Kate Bosworth, Thomas Jane, Annabeth Gish, Dash Mihok, and introduces Jacob Tremblay as Cody. I’ve always been intrigued by dreams, and this looks rather interesting, especially in this day and age of rehashed ghost stories and slasher flicks. Check out the first trailer below and see what you think.

In this intense and heart pounding supernatural thriller, Jessie (Kate Bosworth) and Mark (Thomas Jane) decide to take in a sweet and loving 8-year-old boy, Cody. Unbeknownst to them, Cody is terrified of falling asleep. At first, they assume his previous unstable homes caused his aversion to sleep, but soon discover why: Cody’s dreams manifest in reality as he sleeps. In one moment they experience the incredible wonder of Cody’s imagination, and in the next, the horrific nature of his night terrors. To save their new family, Jessie and Mark embark on a dangerous hunt to uncover the truth behind Cody’s nightmares.
