It almost seem funny to post a news article about a studio announcing a sequel to one of the most successful movies of all time. While many felt a follow-up to FROZEN was inevitable, until today Disney had not announced any official plans. This weekend fans will get to the see the new animated short FROZEN FEVER in front of Disney’s live action CINDERELLA. Today as part of the shareholder’s call, it was announced that Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are both back to develop the film, and Josh Gad will be once again playing Olaf. But before you get too excited, this statement did not come with a release date or story idea, just basically the point that it’s being worked on and in development. You can read the full press release below, in addition to Josh Gad’s Tweet today. While at this point there’s no discussion as to whether Kristen Bell will return to voice Anna, Idina Menzel will return to voice Elsa, or Jonathan Groff will once again play Kristoff, it can be assumed they will… all of them and Gad came back for the FROZEN FEVER short, so this should be no different. Are you ready for more FROZEN? Ready for more songs your kids will never stop singing?!? Tell us in the comments.
Just saying…#Frozen2 https://t.co/FdZDA0PLhe

Winter weather ahead! Frozen 2 is officially in development at Walt Disney Animation Studios with directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and producer Peter Del Vecho, the Oscar®-winning filmmaking team behind Frozen. The news was announced at Disney’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders this morning by Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company; John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios; and actor Josh Gad, who provides the voice of Olaf from Frozen. “We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters,” said John Lasseter. “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.” A release date and production details are yet to be announced.
