TED became a surprise hit for Universal Pictures in 2012, even becoming the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time. With that kind of success, a sequel is pretty inevitable. Seth MacFarlane is back in the director’s chair (and voiceover booth) for TED 2, which also brings back Mark Wahlberg and Sam Jones, though Mila Kunis will not be returning. The female lead this time will be played by Amanda Seyfried, who recently worked with Seth in A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST… Liam Neeson is also in here somewhere. It’s also cool to note that MacFarlane is letting his STAR TREK fandom show by adding names like Michael Dorn (THE NEXT GENERATION) and Nana Visitor (DEEP SPACE NINE) to the cast, and bringing back Patrick Stewart as the narrator. Oh, and did we mention Morgan Freeman is also in this? The new teaser trailer shows the story this time revolves around Ted getting married and wanting kids, but first having to prove himself to be a “person” in a court of law. There’s also the matter of Ted needing his buddy Johnny’s sperm to get his wife pregnant. Hilarity ensues in a sperm bank, a courtroom, and a diner in this first look. The screenplay is written by Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin, Wellesley Wild. See what you think and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
