One of the most fun films to hit Fantastic Fest this year was director Joe Lynch’s EVERLY, starring Salma Hayek as a prostitute-turned-informant targeted by her ex, who happens to be a mob boss Taiko (played by Hiroyuki Watanabe). The ex sends a bunch of crazy killers to her apartment in hopes of killing Everly and her family… but she’s not going down without a fight, and we mean a BIG fight. Check out the bloody trailer below to see what we mean. Radius-TWC is going to distribute the film this January on VOD, followed by a theatrical release in February, and we’d definitely recommend you give it a look. It’s very cool to see Hayek shatter expectations with this kind of role. We’ve seen her in bloody action flicks before like DESPERADO and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO, but she’s not just the girlfriend of the action hero this time. The lovely Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, Gabriella Wright, Jelena Gavrilovic and Caroline Chikezie also star. Tell us what you think in the comments!

It’s Christmas time, but all is not well in the world of Everly (Salma Hayek). A call girl by trade, Everly has turned against her gangster boss Taiko (Hiroyuki Watanabe) and become a police informant. In response, Taiko has put out a hit on Everly and her family. Soon, every criminal in town wants to cash in. Everly’s survival instincts quickly kick in as she matches wits and firepower with Taiko and a seemingly endless stream of killers.

EVERLY hits VOD on January 23, 2015 and theaters February 27, 2015
