Dallas, forget THE INTERVIEW, Alamo Drafthouse celebrates TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE Dec 27 – 10th Anniversary!

UPDATE: It’s being reported that Paramount Pictures will not allow any theaters to show TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE now. The Alamo Drafthouse DFW location has stated they aren’t showing it anymore “due to circumstances beyond our control” and they will give refunds to people who have purchased food vouchers to guarantee seating. This is needless to say upsetting. It should be noted that Paramount and Sony have no connection, so this has nothing to do with the Sony hack or THE INTERVIEW movie. Our guess is Paramount didn’t like the publicity, considering the cyber threats, but again, what kind of statement is this sending? It should be noted this is not Alamo’s fault, a theater chain that still intended to show THE INTERVIEW when others backed out on it. Here’s the official Tweet from Alamo DFW:

With everyone still in shock over Sony canceling Seth Rogen and James Franco’s movie THE INTERVIEW from theatrical release, the Alamo Drafthouse DFW seems to have the perfect answer for Dallas moviegoers. On December 27th, the relatively new location in Richardson will be showing a special 10th Anniversary presentation of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s marionette classic TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE. This is a “quote-along” showing, so you can say all the memorable lines along with the film. It’s all going down on December 27th at 7:00pm… oh, and it’s FREE. Click the link HERE for all the info you need, seats are filling up fast. You can reserve your seat online by purchasing a $4 food and beverage voucher. We may see you there!

Sure, you can celebrate your independence the usual way: slow sipping a beer as you stand over a grill while people you have only mild contempt for wait inside for their free meal. OR you can join The Action Pack as we celebrate the GREATEST MOVIE MADE ABOUT AMERICAN PATRIOTISM EVER and celebrate its 10th anniversary!

The world is different in 2014 than it was in 2004. Kim Jong Il is gone. I don’t know if Michael Moore is still around or not. But a lot of the brilliance in TEAM AMERICA is timeless. Acting is still the greatest gift any human being can possess, and it’s the only way to save America from the terrorists. Puppet f***cking is still awesome. And Matt Damon is still Matt Damon.

So celebrate your indendence this year with the Action Pack. We’ll have subtitles for all the songs and all of our favorite quotes, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to scream out “AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!” at the top of your lungs. And yeah, we will have American flags, red white and blue streamers, balloons, and more for everyone. And THAT is how true American heroes will be celebrating this year, but if you want to let the terrorists win…well, that’s your prerogative.
