Jack O’Connell may not be a household name just yet, but he’s definitely getting his face out there, especially in “military” films. The British World War I tale PRIVATE PEACEFUL was a good start of the young actor, and he’ll soon be hitting theaters in a big way in Angelina Jolie’s UNBROKEN. Shortly after audiences can check him out in another soldier-centered movie called ’71. Directed by Yann Demange, and starring O’Connell, Sam Reid, and Sean Harris, the film takes place in 1971 with a British soldier that gets separated from his unit during a riot in Belfast. Check out the new trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments. I’ve seen both PRIVATE PEACEFUL and UNBROKEN, and I think O’Connell is definitely a name to watch, so I’m anxious to see what lies ahead for him.

’71 takes place over a single night in the life of a young British soldier (Jack O’Connell) accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the streets of Belfast in 1971. Unable to tell friend from foe, and increasingly wary of his own comrades, he must survive the night alone and find his way to safety through a disorientating, alien and deadly landscape.

‘71 will open in theaters February 27, 2015
