This weekend WonderCon returns to San Francisco. For those unfamiliar, WonderCon is actually hosted by the same folks who do San Diego Comic-Con, and in many ways is like a miniature version of their flagship event. But in the past few years Hollywood has used WonderCon to get a jump start on their film promotions, bringing out the big names to build hype with the fans. I have fond memories of my experience last year, talking to the casts of WATCHMEN and TERMINATOR: SALVATION. This year their programming includes a talk with Kevin Smith, TOY STORY 3 director Lee Unkrich, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jerry Bruckheimer for PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel for THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter for RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE, the cast of CHUCK, the cast of HUMAN TARGET, and more. There’s also a few exclusives being handed out over the course of the weekend, one of which is the IRON MAN 2 “Black Widow” poster, and the other (which Drew McWeeney at HITFIX.com) premiered) is a special “Big Daddy” poster for KICK-ASS, which you can see below.
If you hit WonderCon, after you grab me a couple of these cool posters, stop by and see Drew McWeeney of HitFix.com moderating the KICK-ASS panel. I had the pleasure of hanging out a bit with Drew at South by Southwest a few weeks ago – really nice cat. If you want to check out the panel (on Saturday), here’s the info on that:
