Pixar’s new INSIDE OUT trailer really puts the foot down. Come check it out (along with some character posters)

Inside Out - Header - 002

A couple of months ago, we brought you the very first teaser trailer for Pixar’s upcoming animated film, INSIDE OUT, and at that time, I was very optimistic that this could be a return to form for the brilliant studio.  Today we got a brand new trailer for the film and that optimism has skyrocketed.  Let’s just say that out of the five main emotions portrayed in this film, only JOY is getting a word in edgewise.

It was recently announced that Diane Lane (MAN OF STEEL) and Kyle MacLachlan (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) had joined the voice cast as Riley’s mother and father.  The brand new trailer gives us a glimpse into the mind, and therefore the emotions, of the entire family including Riley (Kaitlyn Dias), her mother (Diane Lane) and her father (Kyle Maclachlan).  From this trailer, which is more of a longform clip, shows how the emotions interact with each other, how they daydream and most importantly, influence their person’s actions.  It really is Pixar at its finest and I am dying to see the finished product.

INSIDE OUT is directed by Pete Doctor and stars Diane Lane, Amy Poehler, Kyle MacLachlan, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Phyllis Smith and Kaitlyn Dias.

SYNOPSIS: From the tepuis of South America to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In 2015, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all – inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley. Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

INSIDE OUT is set to hit regular and 3D theaters on June 19, 2015.
