If you’ve been wondering what director Matthew Vaughn has been up to since X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, check out the new International trailer for KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, based on the comic book series SECRET SERVICE by Mark Millar (writer of KICK-ASS) and Dave Gibbons (artist of WATCHMEN). We’ve posted a few trailers from this already, and I think it looks like a lot of fun. The film put a polish on the British spy game and stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton and Samuel L. Jackson. This newest trailer also features a few new shots of Mark Hamill, who Mark Millar convinced to be in the film – there’s something very cool about seeing Luke Skywalker and Mace Windu (Sam Jackson) sharing a scene together. The visuals here are pretty crazy, and some of it looks almost a little too over the top – I’d be lying if I said it didn’t remind me just a little of 1998’s laughably bad THE AVENGERS film adaptation, but I’ll reserve judgement until I see the finished product. They screened it already in California, and word has it the whole thing is worth seeing for the incredibly bloody and insane final battle. I will say I have faith in Vaughn, as I don’t think I’ve seen a movie he’s directed that I didn’t like. Check out the trailer below (underneath the five new posters) and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass (2010), X-Men: First Class (2011)), Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
