THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 7 officially titled FURIOUS 7 – first banner & info on fan questions

Fans will still have to wait a week to see the first trailer for the seventh big screen installment of THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise, but today we have an official title of the newest outing. It’s called FURIOUS 7, and Universal Pictures has released the first piece of promotional art in the form of a cast banner below (click on it to see it full-size). As you may recall, tragedy struck during filming when series star Paul Walker died in a car crash during his down time. The studio and filmmakers, after much consideration, decided to finish the movie and utilized Paul’s brothers to help finish scenes. It’s assumed a little CGI and careful scene staging will allow him to appear throughout the film without it being an extreme distraction. There’s still the question of how they’ll wrap up his story, since bringing him back for another film isn’t an option. Take a look at the new banner, and then check out info on the upcoming trailer and a way for fans to interact with the case leading up to the film.

What I’m most curious to see is how this new outing looks and feels in the hands of James Wan (SAW, INSIDIOUS) as director. The returning cast features Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Jordana Brewster. They’re joined by Jason Statham and Kurt Russell, which should be fun. If anyone is trying to keep track of the various titles that have graced the franchise, it goes in the following order – THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT, FAST & FURIOUS, FAST FIVE, FAST & FURIOUS 6, and finally FURIOUS 7. Are you excited for the latest installment? Tell us in the comments below.
