Russell Crowe has more than proven himself as a competent and likable actor, handling a wide variety of roles and at times making his performances look effortless. With THE WATER DIVINER he works both in front of and behind the camera, making his directorial debut. The story follows World War I with Crowe playing a man searching for his sons who disappeared following the battle of Gallipoli. The cast also includes Olga Kurylenko, Jai Courtney, Cem Yilmaz, Isabel Lucas, Jacqueline McKenzie, Ryan Corr, Deniz Akdeniz, Megan Gale and Yilmaz Erdogan. Andrew Anastasios and Andrew Knight wrote the screenplay, and the film will be released in the U.S. by The Weinstein Company, though no date for that has been set as of yet. Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV. In addition to Hollywood reporting, Mark has worked for many years as an advertising and sci-fi/comic book artist. Clients have included Lucasfilm Ltd., Topps Trading Cards, The Dallas Mavericks and The Dallas Stars. From 2002 until 2015 he managed the Dallas Comic Con, Sci-Fi Expo and Fan Days events in the DFW area. He currently catalogs rare comic books and movie memorabilia for Heritage Auctions, and runs the Dallas Comic Show conventions, but remains an avid moviegoer and cinema buff.
