Russell Crowe has more than proven himself as a competent and likable actor, handling a wide variety of roles and at times making his performances look effortless. With THE WATER DIVINER he works both in front of and behind the camera, making his directorial debut. The story follows World War I with Crowe playing a man searching for his sons who disappeared following the battle of Gallipoli. The cast also includes Olga Kurylenko, Jai Courtney, Cem Yilmaz, Isabel Lucas, Jacqueline McKenzie, Ryan Corr, Deniz Akdeniz, Megan Gale and Yilmaz Erdogan. Andrew Anastasios and Andrew Knight wrote the screenplay, and the film will be released in the U.S. by The Weinstein Company, though no date for that has been set as of yet. In the meantime check out the first poster above and first trailer below. We think it looks pretty great, tell us your thoughts in the comments.
