Antoine Fuqua and Denzel Washington became a collaborative force to be reckoned with in 2001 with TRAINING DAY, even earning Washington an Academy Award for his role in the film. It’s a little surprising that while both men have worked steadily since then, they’ve yet to work together again. THE EQUALIZER, loosely based on the popular television show of the same name, is their first project together since 2001. We’ve already seen a few trailers, which showed the film was going to be pretty dark – I still love the bit with the seconds and his watch. Now we have yet another new trailer (courtesy of Eminem’s YouTube channel and featuring his track “Guts Over Fear”) which shows even more of Denzel being a bad-ass. Aside from Washington the film also features Chloë Grace Moretz, Melissa Leo, Martin Csokas, Haley Bennett and Bill Pullman. Take a look at the newest trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

In The Equalizer, Denzel Washington plays McCall, a man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when McCall meets Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can’t stand idly by — he has to help her. Armed with hidden skills that allow him to serve vengeance against anyone who would brutalize the helpless, McCall comes out of his self-imposed retirement and finds his desire for justice reawakened. If someone has a problem, if the odds are stacked against them, if they have nowhere else to turn, McCall will help. He is The Equalizer.

THE EQUALIZER opens September 26, 2014
