It’s been just about a year since Peter Capaldi was announced as the thirteenth person to portray the lead character on DOCTOR WHO, television’s longest-running science-fiction television show. Now, after seeing him briefly in the Christmas 2013 special, fans get their first full look at Capaldi’s take on the Doctor – and you can see it for free on the big screen with us.

BigFanBoy.com, Keith’s Comics, and the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station present the North Texas watching party for “DeepĀ Breath,” DOCTOR WHO’s season debut, at 7:00 pm on Saturday, 23 August 2014. Admission is free. Here’s how you get your tickets – don’t blink.

The box office for the Angelika opens at 11:00 am on Saturday. Free tickets are available at a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 11:00 am. Two tickets per person. Doors to the screening will open at approximately 6:00 pm. Cosplay is not required, but always welcome.

The Angelika will show BBC America’s DOCTOR WHO: LIVE, hosted by Chris Hardwick, followed by the feature-length episode “DeepĀ Breath.”

We’ll be on hand at the screening with giveaways and other WHO-ligan nonsense. Also, Keith’s Comics will be there with plenty of WHO merch to satisfy your cravings.

Additionally, there’s an after-party for the WHO debut at Elm Street Bar in Deep Ellum, with music from the Manchester Hacienda scene to set the mood, spun by DJ El Macho (Joel Buchanan) and DJ G (Jonathan Graham). Details on the Facebook event page.

When the doctor arrives in Victorian London he finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions.
