I ORIGINS video interview with actor Michael Pitt and writer/director Mike Cahill

Mike Cahill made a big splash in the moviegoing community with the film festival darling ANOTHER EARTH a few years back. Now he’s returned with another ambitious and thought-provoking work titled I ORIGINS. The new film stars Michael Pitt, Steven Yeun, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey and Brit Marling, and has become another talked-about favorite thanks to showings at both the Sundance Film Festival and South By Southwest. I recently had the chance to sit down with Michael Pitt and Mike Cahill to talk about their work on the film, and their thoughts on each other – this was following me hosting Cahill’s Q&A for the film the night before, which was fascinating and filled with eager audience questions. It’s a fun and candid chat with two men you should be keeping an eye on. I ORIGINS is a rather impressive work, and perhaps one of the smartest films to come out this year. My thanks to the always great Grady May for editing this.

I ORIGINS tells the story of a molecular biologist and his laboratory partner uncover evidence that may fundamentally change society as we know it.

I ORIGINS opens July 25, 2014
