Ridley Scott has some damage control to do after THE COUNSELOR, which I (and many others) picked as the worst film of 2014. EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS may be just what the doctor ordered. The biblical epic stars Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as the Pharaoh Ramses. We’ve seen this story played out time and time again on the big screen, but perhaps Ridley can give it a more engaging flare. It’s hard to think anyone could ever top Charlton Heston in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, just for the sheer scope of that film’s accomplishment in the world of cinema. Take a look at the first teaser trailer below, following two of the three posters released for the movie. The cast includes Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, John Turturro, Sigourney Weaver, and Sir Ben Kingsley. Are you excited for this one?
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.
