Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s classic independent-to-mainstream comic book characters were a huge hit on the big screen when the 1990 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movie adaptation came out, and spawned two sequels, a live action TV series, an animated series, and popular arcade and home video games. In this day of retro pop culture icons being all the rage, a reboot is definitely to be expected. Michael Bay, who serves as producer, got the ball rolling, and one can only imagine is one of the main reasons Megan Fox was cast as April O’Neil (who is said to be the main focus of the story)… wait, didn’t she equate working with Bay on the TRANSFORMERS films to working with Hitler? Well, guess they smoothed that over. The first teaser trailer received questionable response, but also showed very little of the title heroes. The new full trailer definitely gives us more of an idea of what to expect. You can see it and four new posters below. Perhaps the biggest reveal in the new trailer is that Shredder is (apparently) a robot. This is sure to cause strong reactions, both positive and negative from fans, but tell us what you think in the comments below. Jonathan Liebesman is the director of this reboot, and the film stars Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner, Will Arnett and Whoopi Goldberg.
