Universal Pictures has just announced the release date for the highly-anticipated biopic STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON, due in theaters August 14, 2015. Ice Cube and Dr. Dre debuted the first photo of the cast this morning on Twitter. O’Shea Jackson Jr., Jason Mitchell and Corey Hawkins star as Ice Cube, Eazy-E and Dr. Dre. STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON is directed by F. Gary Gray (FRIDAY, SET IT OFF, THE ITALIAN JOB) and the drama is produced by original N.W.A. members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who are joined by fellow producers Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright. Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV. In 2001 he started the Entertainment section of the Herorealm website, where he contributed film reviews and celebrity interviews until 2004. From 2002 until 2015 he managed the Dallas Comic Con, Sci-Fi Expo and Fan Days events in the DFW area. He currently catalogs rare comic books and movie memorabilia for Heritage Auctions, and runs the Dallas Comic Show conventions, but remains an avid moviegoer and cinema buff.
