Paolo Rivera’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER cast/crew poster is superb

Back in 2011 when CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER came out we showed you the awesome cast and crew poster comic artist Paolo Rivera did, and we all collectively drooled and cried knowing we couldn’t get one, no matter how much we’d want it. Well CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is almost in theaters, and as some sort of cruel torture, Rivera has once again turned in a phenomenal poster image that was produced just for the cast and crew of the sequel. Let the tears flow. Look at this beauty, evocative of the theatrical campaigns of the 1970s, which is appropriate as the new film is said to play off the political and spy thrillers of that era.

The directing team of the Russo Brothers, Anthony and Joe, have admittedly found inspiration from that time of cinema, so this poster couldn’t possibly be more fitting. Paolo is actually an accomplished comic book creator, and has done multiple projects for Marvel, but we feel he missed his true calling with there spectacular posters. But again, enjoy the look you get here, as you cannot buy one of these, and you won’t see them in theaters… such a crime. It’s safe to say this poster looks better than the actual movie poster for the film. The sequel stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie Toby Jones, Frank Grillo and Robert Redford. It’s directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Are you excited for Cap’s next big screen adventure? Tell us in the comments below! Here’s some examples of 1970s movie posters that likely served as a bit of inspiration for Paolo.
