SXSW 2014: Exclusive Interviews with cast & creator of VERONICA MARS on fan red carpet

Among the many things I did at this year’s South by Southwest Film Festival, one of the most fun nights was on Saturday, being one of only two news outlets on the special “fan” red carpet for VERONICA MARS. It was pouring rain outside, but that didn’t keep the crowds away. This was a special screening, separate from the downtown Austin zaniness of SXSW, held at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline. Everyone was there, and we talked to the entire cast, plus creator Rob Thomas. As a journalist, this is exactly what we all wish a red carpet could be, not hectic and competitive, but just the right balance of fans and talent. It was great seeing the stars spend time talking to the fans, signing autographs and taking photos. They realized without these folks this movie would not have been possible. Check out our interviews below, starting with Francis Capra and Krysten Ritter, then followed by Rob Thomas, Enrico Colantoni, Percy Daggs, Tina Majorino and Amanda Noret, and then ending with Ryan Hansen, Chris Lowell, Jason Dohring and Kristen Bell. My sincere thanks to the fine folks at Warner Bros. for including me, and for Moises Chiullan for shooting and editing this.

VERONICA MARS is now playing everywhere.
