First photo and info on Joe Lynch’s new action thriller EVERLY starring Salma Hayek

We’ve seen Salma Hayek in supporting roles recently, such as Oliver Stone’s SAVAGES and GROWN UPS 2, but fans have been waiting for another leading role from the actress.  Next year they’ll get their wish with director Joe Lynch’s action thriller EVERLY.  Taken from a blacklist script by Yale Hannon taken from a concept by Lynch, the film is said to revolve around “a down-on-her-luck woman who is forced to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss, while trying to save her estranged mother and daughter.”  The story takes place in a single apartment, one of those all in one location deals.   Lynch most recently directed the film festival favorite KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM.  Take a look at the first official photo from the production:

I’m intrigued to see Hayek in this kind of role, and considering she is (after all) and Oscar-nominated actress, she deserves more leading roles anyway.  EVERLY just wrapped principal photography in Belgrade, Serbia.  It co-stars Jennifer Blanc, Togo Igawa, Caroline Chikezie, Gabriella Wright, Uros Certic, Jelena Gavrilovic, Masashi Fujimoto.  It’s set to release in 2014.  Are you interested to see more about this project?  Let us know in the comments.
