If you haven’t heard about JACKASS PRESENTS: BAD GRANDPA, chances are you don’t watch much TV, as ads have been running like crazy. It’s based on a character Johnny Knoxville does in his JACKASS movies, which is basically Knoxville in old age makeup (pretty well done too) doing very inappropriate or shocking things, and seeing how people react. Well he’s now going the same route Sacha Baron Cohen did with BORAT, and delivering a film that finds our Bad Grandpa as the focal point of a story that involves him traveling across America with his 8-year-old grandson… and hilarity ensues along the way. Some of it is gut-bustingly funny, and some of it just seems wrong. We guess audiences will decide this weekend when BAD GRANDPA hits theaters. Directed by Jeff Tremaine, it also features Spike Jonze (who co-wrote it), Jackson Nicoll, and Georgina Cates. Is this one on your moviegoing radar? Check out the new red band (as in NOT SAFE FOR WORK) trailer and tell us in the comments.
86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companion, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera. Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term child-rearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens. Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.
