The remake to the 1976 Brian de Palma film CARRIE which was adapted from the Steven King novel of the same name and stared Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie has now hit the web and it looks fantastic. The new film, directed by Kimberly Peirce (BOYS DON’T CRY, STOP LOSS) sees Chloë Grace Moretz (KICK ASS, HICK) in the titular role of the troubled teen who is severely over-sheltered by her over-bearing, religiously fanatical mother Margaret White played by Julianne Moore (HANNIBAL, BOOGEY NIGHTS).
The movie looks fantastic and while I believe that Chloë is too pretty to properly play the role, she does show a great amount of shy, awkwardness in the trailer and, as we all know, she’s a fantastic actress so I am sure we will be able to see past that. What’s very interesting about the trailer, it acts almost as a cliff notes version of the movie. It runs almost completely in order and tells most of the story so if you haven’t seen the original and are not familiar with the story, be warned, this is a very spoilerific story.
Ok, so you have been warned. If you wish to continue, check it out below and let us know what you think in the usual place.
