Freddy is definitely coming for you, and with Jackie Earle Haley playing Krueger this time around, you can bet there’s gonna be some disturbing imagery and dialogue.  Michael Bay successfully helped revamp THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and FRIDAY THE 13TH franchises, and now A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET may be getting a much-needed update in the eyes of a new generation of horror fans.  Haley has said in interviews this will be played darker and more serious.  Let’s hope.  I loved me some Robert Englund, but after a while those films got more than a little cheesy.  Oh man, saying “cheesy” just reminded me of the pizza scene… let’s move on.  You can also look for Kellan Lutz (THE TWILIGHT SAGA) and Thomas Dekker (THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES) to join the sweater-wearing psycho in this inaugural redux of the classic tale.

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET opens April 30, 2010
