Trailer & poster: THE BAYTOWN OUTLAWS – Billy Bob Thornton & Eva Longoria have hillbilly custody issues

I’ll say this, it’s one of the more interesting-looking films I’ve seen advertised in a while. Imagine something like SMOKIN’ ACES mixed with RAISING ARIZONA and DEATH PROOF – I imagine that’s what THE BAYTOWN OUTLAWS will be, and the trailer pretty much backs me up. Formerly titled THE BAYTOWN DISCO, the movie finds Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria battling over their son, who is confined to a wheelchair. Newcomers Barry Battles and Griffin Hood penned the script, with Battles directing. Outside of Thornton and Longoria, the cast includes Daniel Cudmore, Clayne Crawford, Travis Fimmel, Paul Wesley, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Zoe Bell, Natalie Martinez, Serinda Swan, Andre Braugher, Michael Rapaport, Agnes Bruckner, and the lovely Brea Grant. Check out the poster above and the trailer below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

After her ex-husband Carlos shoots Celeste three times in the gut, it’s time to play dirty. In the fight for her godson, Rob, she hires three outlawed and redneck brothers to bring him back to her. But nothing can be that simple in the South. What begins as a small rescue mission rises to a southern battle royal. This odd team must shoot their way through gorgeous female assassins, Native American hunters, Federal agents, and a whole lot of metal coming after them, while protecting Celeste’s innocent child.

No word on release date, though IMDB says “limited” release in 2013
