MÖBIUS trailer – Jean Dujardin (of THE ARTIST) plays it serious with Tim Roth

Earlier this year French actor Jean Dujardin took home the Academy Award for Best Actor thanks to his brilliant performance in 2011’s THE ARTIST. Next February audiences will have a chance to see a much more serious side to the diversified thespian when he stars in MÖBIUS. The mysterious thriller co-stars Tim Roth, Cécile De France, Émilie Dequenne, John Lynch and the lovable Brad Leland (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS). It’s directed by Eric Rochant, who helmed several episodes of the French television series MAFIOSA. To say the trailer below looks and even sounds slightly similar to the teaser for SKYFALL or perhaps even trailer for INCEPTION would probably be an understatement, but it definitely looks interesting. Check it out and tell us your thoughts in the comments. I’ve been a fan of Jean Dujardin since long before his days with THE ARTIST, thanks to his James Bond parody OSS-117 films. It will be great to watch him show how dark and mysterious he can be on the big screen.

Moïse, the leader of an elite FSB (ex-KGB) unit, is in London on the trail of a powerful oligarch suspected of money laundering. His team bullies Alice, a smart young trader operating way over her limit, into working for Moïse. Alice soon realizes the potential for profit in playing both sides so everybody wins, but Moïse becomes convinced she will blow her cover and put her life in danger. He decides to do what no spymaster should ever do – make direct contact with his agent. An innocent first meeting soon develops into a passionate affair that will change their lives forever, just not in the way they expected.

MÖBIUS opens in France on February 27, 2013 (no U.S. release dates as of this writing)
