THE DARK KNIGHT RISES gets a 13 minute behind-the-scenes featurette!

With just a little less than 2 weeks before Chris Nolan’s epic finale to his masterful Batman trilogy hits the screen, excitement thru the fanboy, and non-fanboy, community is at a fever pitch.  Chris Nolan has managed to do what many blockbusters can’t do and that is keep the spoilers to a minimum and keep the questions to a maximum.

Who is John Blake and what is his real role?  Who is Miranda Tate and is she really Talia al Gul?  What has Batman / Bruce Wayne been doing for the past 8 years?  Can Anne Hathaway create a memorable Catwoman and step out of the shadow of Michelle Pfieffer (who many consider to be the best on-screen version of the character so far)?  How bad is Bane going to be and will he follow his comic-book counterpart and effectively break the bat?  Speaking of the Bat, what’s up with Batman’s new flying toy?  Will Batman make it out of this movie….alive? These are, of course, only a few of the questions that many of the fans are wanting to know.

Well, now we have a brand new 13 minute long behind-the-scenes featurette that gives us a lot of new images from the film, tons of interviews with the cast and crew and manages to not answer a single one of the questions I listed above.  Still, it is quite awesome to hear the cast talk about the movie and how excited they were to be a part of it (Tom Hardy’s reaction to seeing Christian Bale dressed as Batman for the first time is classic).  Chris Nolan has given us a lot to get excited about with the movie, but he hasn’t given us everything…..not yet.

See what I did there?

So check out the featurette below and tell us what you think and be sure to tell us what questions you are dying to find out when THE DARK KNIGHT RISES hits theaters in 12 days.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman.

SYNOPSIS: Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive.  Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good.  For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda.  Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile.  But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is set to hit theaters and IMAX on July 20, 2012
