Hey Dallas/Ft. Worth peeps, are you an Indiana Jones fan? If so we’ve got some exciting news for ya. This weekend we’ll be hosting not one but TWO showings of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK at the historic Texas Theatre, 35mm print my friends. This is the real deal, the way it was meant to be seen. Many people have still never seen Indy’s first adventure theatrically, and this is a rare opportunity to experience the original. The Texas Theatre is a fantastic repertory cinema house, and we’re helping them do it up in style. Bigfanboy.com is hosting a special Friday night party, and we’ll be giving away all sorts of cool stuff – plus prizes for trivia and costumes. Everyone is going to walk away with something cool. You don’t have to do anything special, just buy yourself a ticket for the Friday, 7:10pm show or the Saturday, 4:30pm show – we’re hosting both! Show up in costume and get an extra special prize (of some sort). We want this to be a fun night for hardcore Indy fans, so get yourself in a party mood and join us Friday evening or Saturday afternoon for all the fun.

A few notes – if you’ve never been to the Texas Theatre, this is a great place to see movies in a classic environment. Painstakingly restored by the fine folks at Aviation Cinemas, the main house features an impressive 650 seats. Perhaps best known in history as the location where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested, you’ll immediately feel the nostalgia upon entering the doors of this stylish building. The Texas Theatre also has a full bar and plenty of lounge seating, which is a great place to have a drink and talk about the film you’re about to see… or just saw! We’ll be hosting two showings on RAIDERS, the Friday 7:10pm show, and the Saturday 4:30pm show, and doing prizes and whatnot at both. Come in costume for our special Texas Theatre photo op!

Born and raised in Dallas, Mark has been a movie critic since 1994, with reviews featured in print, radio and National TV. In 2001 he started the Entertainment section of the Herorealm website, where he contributed film reviews and celebrity interviews until 2004. After three years of service there, he started Bigfanboy.com, which has become one of the Dallas film community's leading information websites. Bigfanboy hosts several movie screenings in the Texas area, and works closely with film and TV studios and promotional partners to host exciting events and contests. The site also features a variety of rare celebrity and filmmaker interviews, and Bigfanboy.com regularly covers the film festival circuit as well. In addition to Hollywood reporting, Mark has worked for many years as an advertising and sci-fi/comic book artist. Clients have included Lucasfilm Ltd., Topps Trading Cards, The Dallas Mavericks and The Dallas Stars. From 2002 until 2015 he managed the Dallas Comic Con, Sci-Fi Expo and Fan Days events in the DFW area. He currently catalogs rare comic books and movie memorabilia for Heritage Auctions, and runs the Dallas Comic Show conventions, but remains an avid moviegoer and cinema buff.
