MACHINE GUN PREACHER out on Blu-ray/DVD – interviews with Gerard Butler and the real Sam Childers

This week the movie MACHINE GUN PREACHER hits Blu-ray (as a combo pack with a DVD included) and regular DVD. Last year I had a chance to participate in the Dallas press conference for the film, featuring stars Gerard Butler and Michelle Monaghan, and the basis of the film – the real life Sam Childers. The movie is an inspirational tale about the way one man can change his life for the better, and in the process help so many others. Shot partly in Africa and directed by Marc Forster (QUANTUM OF SOLACE), it was one of my favorite (sadly overlooked by many) films of 2011. Check out the candid interviews below – a small note of warning, Gerard gets a little R-rated toward the end talking about upcoming work. I also want to issue a special note of thanks to Sam, who gave me a signed copy of his book “Another Man’s War”, which is excellent – link to order it online below.

Hope is the greatest weapon of all

Gerard Butler (300) delivers a searing performance in this explosive, action-packed story of an inspiring real-life hero. Butler stars as Sam Childers, a drug-dealing criminal who undergoes an astonishing spiritual transformation and makes a life-changing decision to travel to war-torn East Africa. After witnessing unspeakable horrors faced by innocent children, he vows to save them at any cost, including his own safety. Childers begins waging a relentless battle against the territory’s renegade militia, leading harrowing missions behind enemy lines to rescue kidnapped orphans and restore peace to their lives – and eventually his own.
